New planning tools
The old planning mode has been ripped out and been replaced with a brand new planning mode that lets you plan your upcoming milestones, releases, epics and more from one easy-to-use view.
New agile whiteboard
The agile whiteboard is a great way to get an instant overview of your current sprint / milestone progress, and is an integrated part of any agile team. Even if you're not using an agile process, the whiteboard can work for you.
Improved time management
The Bug Genie now tracks time spent as it is spent, and not as a cumulative value. Categorize your spent time, add hours or minutes and get the job done.

Better search tools
Finding issues has become easier than ever, thanks to a whole new interactive filter view. Find issues instantly, use custom fields in your search queries and save customized search reports.

Thanks to major improvements in the backend, search is now also faster than ever!
Restyled issue views
The main issue view has been restyled to get a better overview of issue details. Issue detail groups such as "Times and dates", "People involved" and more helps you find the details you're looking for, faster.
File handling improvements
The Bug Genie now lets you upload files during issue reporting, and displays attached files with previews in a separate issue section. Also included is better functionality for embedding files in the issue.

Improved editing
Wiki editing has been greatly improved with a much cleaner editor interface and support for immersive, fullscreen mode.

Wiki special pages
As any good wiki should have, the wiki packages in version 4 supports "special pages", such as list of categories, orphaned pages and more.
Documentation and handbooks
Wiki pages can now be organized in "books", making it possible to create separate handbooks and manuals on different topics. Also included is a tree view of book pages and chapters, making it easy to get a good overview of the contents.
Templating and improved wiki functionality
The wiki package also gained template support, with a couple of default templates included, and full support for making your own. The wiki syntax has also been enhanced with support for custom classes and attributes to allow greater flexibility.

More syntaxes
The wiki package now supports three ways of marking up your content: the classic mediawiki syntax, markdown or just plain old text.

Framework improvements
The framework used for The Bug Genie has seen a lot of performance improvements and changes to make the backend quicker and less complex. Full support for more advanced php features also makes the entire software faster.
Composer support
Also added in version 4 is full php composer support, making the initial download smaller and easing updates.
Database backend improvements
The database backend used in The Bug Genie has been extracted into a separate github repository, and has seen many improvements in both performance and features. Feel free to contribute updates here.
